Our Fees

Interior design fees

Every client and every project is different. Fees are therefore tailored according to the work involved in preparing the scheme, or overseeing a project.

Larger projects will be priced on a fixed-fee basis, split into stages as a project progresses. For smaller jobs, it might be cost-plus (a markup upon the product(s) supplied).

Some services, like the personal interiors shopper, would be on an hourly, half-day or full-day rate.

Here are some examples, to give you an idea.

Fee package 1: small project

This would suit a total project budget up to £5,000. For instance, a client who wants to update one or two rooms like a drawing room and/or bedroom. The project will likely require decorative elements like window treatments, wallcoverings, soft furnishings, lighting and perhaps flooring and some furniture too.

The fee would be between £150 and £500, which includes £50 for the initial meeting.

What you can expect: an initial in-person consultation in your home (anywhere on the Isle of Wight). Subsequent discussions would take place by phone or video-call. Before I do any design work, I will let you know what the remaining fee would be. I will then produce a digital mood board which you will receive via email. It will show the colour scheme, and include all products, plus a furniture layout where applicable.

If you intend to obtain everything yourself, I will provide a shopping list so you are free to make your own purchases.

If I am to supply any products, I will then provide a detailed quotation. This will probably involve getting together again so I can show you tactile products like fabrics and wallcoverings.

Fees are payable in advance: £50 in advance of the first meeting and the remainder in advance of the mood board and shopping list being emailed to you.

Fee package 2: medium project

This would suit a total project budget between £5,000 and £20,000. A typical such project is a client with one room that requires major work like a bathroom or kitchen update.

The fee would be between £500 and £2,000, which includes £100 for the initial meeting.

What you can expect: an initial in-person consultation in your home (anywhere on the Isle of Wight). I will also take detailed measurements so I can draw up the room in detail. Before I do any design work, I will let you know what the remaining fee would be. I will then produce a digital mood board which you will receive via email. It will convey the colours, and include all products. There will be a detailed floor plan and elevations of the kitchen/bathroom, plus an electrics / lighting plan.

If you intend to obtain everything yourself, or use your own contractor(s), I will provide a shopping list so you are free to make your own purchases.

If I am to supply any products, I will then provide a detailed quotation. If any third party tradespeople are to be involved – such as a kitchen fitter – then an estimate from them will be provided.

Fees are payable in advance: £100 in advance of the first meeting and the remainder in advance of the mood board and other documents being emailed to you.

Fee package 3: large project

This would suit a total project budget over £20,000. For instance, a client with a much larger refurb in mind for their home. The scope of the project would probably involve building works and remodelling of the internal layout.

The fee would start from £2,000, which includes £150 for the initial meeting.

What you can expect: an initial in-person consultation in your home (anywhere on the Isle of Wight). I will also take some general measurements of rooms. Before I do any design work, I will let you know what the remaining fee would be. Fees for large projects would be tailored to your needs. It would be a fully co-ordinated service with minimal input or effort required from you. Expect everything from Fee Package 1 and 2, plus project management of builders/decorators, purchasing on your behalf, and 3D imagery (usually additional fee per visual).

Fees are payable in advance: £150 in advance of the first meeting, with the remainder payable in stages as the project progresses.
